Maternity Portraiture is for mothers of infant children, and those who are expecting to birth a baby in the near future. They are a type of portrait within Don Douglas Photography's Personal Portraiture specialties.

One type of Maternity Portrait involves creating images of a mother and her baby nursing or in other bonding poses expressive of their close and unique loving relationship. Other Maternity Portraits are created prior to birthing and are designed to render a shortly expectant woman's round, unique maternal beauty. Either variety of Maternity Portrait can be created in either color or black & white. Maternity Portraits of either kind are not designed to be 'smile-for-the-camera' snapshot pictures, but rather a means of artistically capturing either a tender and intimate moment in your relationship with the new person to whom you have given birth, or the maternal, feminine beauty of a woman shortly before birthing.

Creating a Maternity Portrait involves the purchase of a Personal Portraiture Package. These all-inclusive packages include a thirty-exposure studio sitting, professionally finished custom enlargements and a personalized bonded leather folio, album or wall portrait, with prices which start at just $ 200.00.

Making images of your infant alone is also an option during your sitting. If you select this option you may choose to also purchase any child portrait package at 10% off the regular price.
